With the way that the calendar fell, this was the fifth Tuesday in the month, leaving an open slot at the Tranzac. Brian Abbott pulled together this last minute show, which lead to this grouping's quickly-selected name. Avesta Nakhaei (piano) and Paul Newman (tenor sax) gave the proceedings some musical form while Abbott's guitar and Ted Phillips' micro-sampling cataRT system tugged things towards abstraction. Nicely atmospheric with the occasional electroacoustic noiseburst, this ad hoc gathering was a low-key sonic success.
