Charalambides - unknown

Houston's Tom & Christina Carter (touring behind a new double album) brought some avant-folk explorations to close out this night, melding bluesy, often wordless vocalisations to spindly guitar structures that would, on occasion, push out into monumental solos.

[Invocation's presentation of the Thalia Zedek Band has now been merged with Wavelength's Holiday Music/Comedy Fundraiser at The Baby G on Wednesday, December 12th.]

Tom Carter - [excerpt from first piece]

Full review to follow. I wasn't familiar with Carter's work, either solo or as part of Charalambides, but this quickly pulled me in — slow-building gorgeousness, and a sort of tribute to the infinite possibilities of long-loop delay.
