Sticking to its roots of fitting shows into smaller nooks and crannies around its home neighbourhood, BOFF lead off with a free night of smaller shows, including this leadoff on the back patio of a beloved local dive, on a patio scenically located amongst the back-alley traffic. I dropped by in time to catch some of Jon McKiel and also this set from Michael Feuerstack, who is now on his third "solo" album since retiring his longtime Snailhouse bandonym. Advanced but never flashy as a guitar player, his stripped-down set leaned on The Forgettable Truth, which came out earlier this year, as well as dipping through his back catalogue.
