The usual early and late sets were blended into one fine triple-header in the Southern Cross on Tuesday, with a couple members of Drumheller taking part in a pair of trios before the night's closing set. The last time I saw Drumheller play was doubly a special occasion: not only were they celebrating a new album, but guitarist Eric Chenaux (who has decamped to Paris) was in town to celebrate the occasion. The remaining quartet is still a working unit, however, as the set filled with six new pieces demonstrated. This one (from Nick Fraser) was my favourite — check out the gorgeous bass work here from Rob Clutton.
