Although I've seen each of Nilan Perera, Rob Clutton and Nick Fraser many times, I don't think I've ever seen them perform together — so I had a quiet smile to myself at seeing the Toronto version of the Jandek band reunited on stage. Joining them was the always-playful Dani Oore, on reeds, PVC pipe, and the occasional shout of joy. There was a lot of ground covered in this set, as these two contrasting pieces indicate — the first features Perera's fingerpicked acoustic guitar, subtly-interjecting some of Jimmy Page's "Bron-Yr-Aur", while the latter goes electric and cranks things up several notches, flipping without warning into some heavy vibes.
