The Draperies - [excerpt]Full review to follow. Eric Chenaux, Ryan Driver and Doug Tielli have une histoire which stretches back quite a while, so even if their current state of trans-continental semi-hiatus has them playing together pretty infrequently, there's still an instant alchemy that arises when they play together. A Draperies set isn't quite tuneful in an easy, linear sense — it's more like an uncanny form of sonar that maps a funhouse mirror version of familiar terrain.
