Celebrating the release of new album Garments of Light (on Healing Power Recordings), Brandon Valdivia and Colin Fisher (who was also celebrating the release of a solo album) played an extended set. The first piece had a lot of subtle variations (including reverberating gong, flutes and saxophone) while the second was a good ol' fashioned spiritual avant-raveup for guit and drums.

No two shows are the same, so while while you can expect something rather different when NTW cross paths with William Parker at next month's X Avant festival, it stands to be an equally excellent occasion.
