Full review to follow. As he pays tribute to his late father, it feels like Jonas Bonnetta's letting go is almost done. Expressing the sadness and memory and love in the beautiful songs on Spectral Dusk has clearly been both a cathartic and exhausting process, and soon it will be time to head back to the woods and let some new songs, new feelings and new life emerge.
At the end of the tour, the four-piece winding things down felt a world away from the widescreen rock unit that helped put the album into the world back in August — the difference between summer brightness and early-winter grey skies. The final stop to this tour — and perhaps to some of these songs in a live setting — will be at the Music Gallery on December 20, 2012, which should be a special night in the beautiful church sanctuary.
