Not getting to as many rock shows as I used to, it'd been far too long since I had caught a set from the almighty catl., so it was a joy to see Jamie Fleming and Sarah Kirkpatrick digging their gold teeth into some scuzzy blues rave-ups. In the Horseshoe's PA there was plenty low-end thump adding to the get-dancing imperative, and in a shorter non-headliner set the pair have an embarrassment of riches to sift through. That meant that there were some selections from last year's Bide My Time Until I Die but also plenty of digging further back.
