James Bailey/Ryan Kinney/Danielle Fernandes - [second piece]It is sometimes quite astounding how well Audiopollination's "self-curated" nights can work, creating beautiful sounds that cohere not just within a set, but over the course of a whole night. James Bailey's found sound percussion may be the most surprising and delighting endeavour amongst his several musical pathways. Broken cymbals and rototom frames spinning on overturned pizza trays created a backdrop for Ryan Kinney's acoustic guitar deconstructions, often percussive in their own right, and gave a context for Danielle Fernandes' sax manipulations.
