Gig of the week:
Healing Power Festive Fest Showcase & Bazaar / The Tranzac 2013-12-06 (Friday) [FB event]
Even though they've had as good a year as any local label, Healing Power is more of a community than a content creator, and they tend to value good vibes over the ego thing. There's proof of that in the fact that you don't see a pre-announced list of performers for this annual celebration — although there's gonna be plenty good music here, the who of it isn't as important as the spirit of the event. That being said, you can make some pretty good guesses as to who's gonna be there if you take a scan through the label's roster and recent parties. And beyond that, there's also an all-day bazaar (featuring "art/music/clothes/jewelry/food/fortune-telling/knick-knacks/objects of desire") from local DIY merchants. Healing Power folk are friendly and inclusive, so all you have to do to be a part is to show up. Last year's fest was a gas, and this one promises to be as good.
