This is the gig of the week in part because on a stinkin' Tuesday night, there's a bit less competition for your attention. (Seriously — this is a crazy week, and Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday are all stacked with several can't-go-wrong choices.) But also — full disclosure here — this gets the pick because I put this gig together with help from the awesome Joel French of PPOP. Bringing improvised music back into the dive bars is a bit of an experiment, so I'm hoping that cross-breeding that with some off-kilter tangents from folks in the "rock" scenes will allow for some new mixing of music and audiences. (And good times! And volume!) This is PWYC and should be done at a reasonably early hour, so do feel free to drop in and hang out. This is just the start of a new monthly series, and as long as people are willing to show up I have tonnes of stuff I'd love to get up on stage.
