Contest: Rendezvous With Madness 2013

Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival

November 11–16, 2013

The Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival has been investigating the facts and mythologies surrounding mental illness in the media of moving pictures since 1993. Presenting films cutting across genre lines, the festival creates spaces for dialogue and the exchange of ideas. Many of the films are presented with panel discussions to further the conversations that the screenings provoke. And it helps that there's a strong selection of films that are worth seeing on their own merits.

I'll have a full preview of the festival tomorrow, but just to get things going, courtesy of the festival I have a pair of tickets to give away to the screening of Valeria Golino's Honey (Miele). Screened in the Un Certain Regard programme at Cannes, the film tells the story of Miele, a student with an emotionally complex clandestine job "to help terminally-ill individuals to die with dignity by giving them a powerful barbiturate".

TICKETS + MORE INFO

You can learn some more about the film here. It screens Friday, November 15, 9:15 p.m. at the TIFF Lightbox. [advance tickets here.]

CONTEST

To enter to win a pair of passes to the screening, shoot me an email to mechanicalforestsound@gmail.com, with "contest" in the title and your name in the body — or if it's easier, you can enter with a retweet on twitter or a "like" on facebook. I'll randomly draw a winner on Thursday, March 5th @ 2 p.m.

N.B.: Hitting the "Like" button below is appreciated — and encouraged! — but does not constitute contest entry, given that I have no way of knowing who pressed it.
