This trio, with Mark Zurawinski holding down the drum chair alongside two of the city's finest guitarists covered a lot of ground. This first piece heard here reads as menacing psychedelic music, with Perera looping a bassline and roaring along while O'Reilly fills in the fine details. From there, they launched into loop/delay interspace and extended techniques, complete with thumb piano and swizzle sticks.
[Synaptic Circus returns to The Tranzac on Sunday, October 28th, with Heidi Chan and Nic Murray each playing solo sets before joining together as a duo.]
