Heraclitus Akimbo - La Région Centrale, Part 1Billed as "a quiet night" by organizer Matt Nish-Lapidus, this evening featured plenty of patchcords and three different flavours of electronic experimentalism. This time out, Heraclitus Akimbo's keyb-based loop-drift was accompanied by samples of the soundtrack of Michael Snow's epic La Région Centrale, adding some meditations on the landscape that serves mostly as a backdrop for the dazzling formalist freedom of the film's revolutionary free-to-move-on-all-axes camera work.
[Heraclitus Akimbo will be one of "Seven Sonorous Scintillators", playing a duo set with Jason Doell at Xuan Ye's You've Just Become Part of Me album release celebration, this Sunday (July 16th) in the early slot at The Tranzac.]
