Parquet Courts - Stoned and Starving + Light Up Gold

Full review to follow. Although they aren't yet consistently transcending some obvious influences, Brooklyn's Parquet Courts do show potential. Their dry sound was a little too meticulous, but this set-closing rave-up hinted that they can push things 'til they're getting closer to falling apart — which is always a more interesting place. (It should be noted that my measured response was a minority view — these openers outdrew the evening's headliners with a young and enthusiastic crowd.)
