Donna Linklater - I Hear Voices

With its multiple floors, cavernous halls, creaky stairwells and peeling-paint grandeur, Workman Arts might be the closest thing Long Winter has found to its old home at the pre-restoration Great Hall. A lone figure on the massive Main Hall stage, Donna Linklater offered up some songs from the recent Tough Guy album. Despite the space surrounding her, she managed to pull the room in a little closer with her buoyant vocals (shades of a more earthbound Mary Margaret O'Hara), ukulele chops and sympathetic beats.
