Concert Listings Roundup #256

You can read more about why I'm doing listings here. Long story short: This curated and decidedly non-comprehensive list contains nothin' but shows that I am going to/would go to if I had more time.

Gig of the week:

Baby Cages [Bitter Melon album release!] (Pantayo / Phèdre with MC Lil Gay) / Owl's Club 2018-06-29 (Friday) [FB event]

Baby Cages celebrate their ambitious Bitter Melon visual album with a performance as well as a screening of videos of all six of its songs. A night at Owl's Club is usually an enjoyably-casual time and the environs will be glamourized by an installation and nail art from Diana Lynn VanderMeulen plus the Posi Vibez glitter station — to say nothing of musical enhancement from Pantayo and Phèdre.

  • Keep your Pride celebrations rolling with these selections from the QSO's songbook. All-star arrangements, championship-calibre musicians and some of the city's best singers (including Alanna Stuart, Alex Samaras, Thom Gill and Ghislain Aucoin) all come together to re-imagine these songs and their "historical and personal queer backstories".
