The 416 Toronto Creative Improvisers Festival, a long-running autumnal agglomeration of various strands of local improvised music scenes, is generally a low-key and cozy time with four nights of music crammed into the Southern Cross. I can offer an even stronger recommendation this year given that I have a hand in, so to speak — but besides the Thursday night affair which I booked there's great stuff on every one of the festival's nights: from electroacoustic forays to punk cabaret to big-band blast-offs. And don't forget about our Toronto Experimental Music Wikipedia Jam on Saturday afternoon, too!
