Full review to follow. I was unfamiliar with the work of Phillippe Charbonneau, but this band hinted he learned some lessons on atmospherics during his time as a Timber Timbre sideman. But the lashing energy and tense restraint here — as well as the hints of darkness at the core — made the band sound even more like the bastard sons of Nick Cave's Red Right Hand.
