• A big week at the Music Gallery with this year's edition of What Is: (a multipart performance and discussion series that examines the threads that tie music together). "This year’s theme, futurism, reaches beyond genre and explores the complexities in dreaming for a future that may not promise to be so bright. It examines tropes, probes necessary discourse, encourages dreaming, and embeds our sonic aspirations into the future." There are two multimedia concerts on Thursday and Saturday (listed below) plus two (free!) discussion-based events: an Indigenous Futurism Panel on Wednesday at 918 Bathurst and "The Future of People", an interview and book signing of the Detroit techno-inspired graphic novel The Book of Drexciya at It's Ok* Studios (468 Queen St W) on Friday.
