It was a real joy to finally get a chance to see Steph Yates performing the songs from her Cots project — her Disturbing Body album was a definite fave last year, when chances to see live shows were thin on the ground. Fot this set (as on the album) she was joined by Josh Cole (bass) and Blake Howard (percussion) to flesh out tunes that ranged from bossa nova lightness to a sort of jaunty slowcore — and pleasingly, there were a couple new ones in the mix as well, so hopefully this project will continue to develop.
