Full review to follow. Kids on TV took advantage of the Hatch artistic residency program at Harbourfront to find ways to stage some of the new songs from their forthcoming Pantheon album. The songs are indeed a celebration of the band's pantheon of heroes, with songs about Liberace, Vanessa Paradis, Robert Rauschenberg, John Rechy and more. But it was also a celebration of another pantheon, the band's community of artists who joined them on stage. With Gentleman Reg and Katie Stelmanis (now of Austra) joining in as part of the choir for this set-closer, my mind drifted back to when I saw the band tackle this before nearly three years ago. John O'Regan (Diamond Rings) was also a guest on stage at both shows, and it's worth celebrating to consider that these artists are still working together as they've grown and set off on their own trajectories.
