It was a rare treat to see Steve Shoe — fondly remembered as one of Toronto's best live sound techs but now expatriated to Hamilton — performing as Proof of Ghosts. This one was a solo set, with kickdrum and a maraca shaking on each downstroke of the guitar. Noted for his fusion of folky balladry and Black Sabbath crunch, this one shows off a Neil Young-ian sweep, patiently ambling along for a spell before settling into the song.
