Caution Wet Floor Signs - The Part Leading Up to John Wick 5

Once again improvising with fluxus-inspired playful chaos, this set started with bassist Yoshi Maclear Wall asking the audience to creatively rearrange themselves in the space so they could be played like a score — and the interactive shenanigans continued from there. The band this time out was comprised of Alex McPherson (double bass), Will Hunt (keys), Garret Hildebrandt (saxophone), Dame Cook (tap) and Colin Cudmore (percussion), all of whom got a turn pulling slips of paper with discursive instructions. Playful throughout, but as heard here, this is a crew that can also play, especially in the sort of avant loft jazz idiom from which they also take inspiration.

You can check out some more from this set over on youtube:

[Track Could Bend is back at Wenona on Tuesday, November 3rd with sets from Ancient Egypt (Holger Schoorl + Pete Johnston) and Alaniaris (Michael Kaler + Mark Zurawinski with special guest Brian Abbott).]
