As usual, a very busy summer week, filled with some very tempting summer-y outdoorsness (at the Harbourfront, on Bloor and Dundas, and especially over at the Aga Khan) but let's not forget those precious little one-offs existing at the margins. As is so often the case, there's a cracking good double-header at The Tranzac on Wednesday with a whole bunch of specialness to enjoy, with some AC explorations and a freaky Eric Dolphy tribute setting the stage for what should be some electrifying improvisations in Karen Ng's slot with special guest Peggy Lee from Vancouver.

Community corner:
- Simone Schmidt has honed her Audible Songs from Rockwood project into a new format, presenting it as a songs + stories showcase at this year's Summerworks festival. There will be five performances from August 10 to 15, and tickets are available on Tuesday.
- Zine Dream returns for its 12th year, a one-day explosion offering "over 100 exhibitors of self published books, comics, music, zines, hand made crafts, prints & much more" . It takes place on Sunday (July 21st) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at MOCA, 158 Sterling Rd.
- Labyrinth Ontario's series of workshops continues with a three-day intensive with tanbur legend Ali Akbar Moradi, running for run for three afternoons, July 26th-29th. Check out Labyrinth's website for all the details!
