Once more taking over the stage at Hirut for a month of Sundays, I was only able to make it out to see Eucalyptus for the last outing their this residency run. In the absence of Nicole Rampersaud, I had heard rumours of guest horn players, but this night saw Brodie West without any company, opening up a bit of space up front for Ryan Driver's clavinet and Kurt Newman's guitar — as well, of course, as for the trio of percussionists to stop'n'go. There was also something new on the merch table, so it makes sense to hang out with the new release's title track here.
