This joint tour brought together Maria Chavez, Evicshen (aka Victoria Shen), and Mariam Rezaei — three noted figures in the realm of avant-turntablism. Don't try and situate this in the realm of hip-hop chicka-chicka-womp, this hewed toward advanced/abstract electroacoustic collage. Each of the artists brought their own style and signifiers, but on this night Shen was the most visceral crowd-pleaser, bringing some chaotic noise show vibes to the proceedings, including some accidental punkrock property damage with a bullwhip routine gone awry.
