Saxophonist Karen Ng put together this night, which was the first of a promised new series from Somewhere There, which has recently been mostly presenting shows in the more formal environs of Array Space. The opening bands' scritchy jazz-funk and improvised noise cello served as a good preparation for the headliners' controlled chamber-prog bursts. This new piece (two sections of a suite in progress) is rockin' by composer/cellist Cory Latkovich's mathematically-precise standards and as tasty as anything the band has yet done.
